The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the Police Service is investigating reports of an incident on the compound of the Santa Rosa Government Primary School, involving an intruder who allegedly attempted to sexually assault several students, on June 10, 2025.
In a statement, the Education Ministry assures that it is “cooperating fully with law enforcement and other key stakeholders to support the ongoing investigation.”
“The matter is currently under active investigation by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service,” the Ministry stated.
The Ministry says a review of the school’s existing security protocols is being undertaken.
“This step is part of our continued commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and visitors across the national school system,” the Ministry said.
It also is reminding all school administrators and security personnel to remain vigilant and to ensure that all safety protocols are enforced consistently.
