The police have confirmed that arrangements are currently underway for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death of the tourist whose body was found in Mamora Bay last Friday.
The lifeless body of 40-year-old Gintaras Lokcikas, a national of the Republic of Lithuania was found along the shoreline of the beach shortly after 7am.
According to the police, they are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The police say they “have been in contact with relevant local and international authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives from the Lithuanian government to keep them informed of the investigation”.
Reports are that Lokcikas arrived in Antigua on Thursday, May 8, and was staying at the St James’s Club. He was scheduled to depart the island on Thursday, May 15, one day before his body was found.
“The police administration expresses sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr Lokcikas during this difficult time,” a release from Stratcom outlined.
