A 44-year-old man who was the subject of a police search for several days has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison after surrendering himself to authorities last week.
Gareth Walker, a resident of Ottos, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Dexter Wason on Tuesday on charges related to firearms possession.
Walker is charged with unlawful possession of a .45 pistol and unlawful possession of five rounds of matching ammunition.
The charges arose from an incident that occurred during a traffic check on Friars Hill Road on March 20, 2025.
Walker had been sought by law enforcement before he turned himself in at Police Headquarters on American Road shortly after 5 pm on May 9.
