Death of Guyanese national in auto incident deemed suspicious, according to Police

The police are treating the death of a 19-year-old Guyanese woman as suspicious as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

Abraham reportedly died on Wednesday after allegedly jumping from a moving vehicle.

Reports indicate that sometime shortly after 5pm, Abraham allegedly jumped from the vehicle being driven by 24-year-old Victor Ince of Lightfoot West. According to the police, this incident occurred along a by-road leading from New Winthorpes to the Jabberwock main road.

Police who responded to the scene found Abraham’s body on the south side of the road. She was unresponsive and had multiple injuries. A medical doctor pronounced her dead at approximately 6:30pm.

Allegations are that the woman arrived in Antigua only days before losing her life.

Ince is currently in police custody assisting with the ongoing investigation. The vehicle involved has been taken to Police Headquarters for forensic examination.

The police have issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any relevant information to contact the Coolidge Police Station at 462-3185, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously at 800-TIPS (8477).
