Brazen Sunday Morning Shooting Leaves Man Hospitalized

Police have launched an investigation into a daring daylight shooting incident in Gray’s Farm mid-morning, yesterday, which left a man nursing an injury.

The police say Andre “Kenyatta” Mills of Lovelace Road sustained a wound to his right leg, inflicted by unknown assailants.

Reports are that at approximately 10:45am, Mills was sitting on the eastern side of the road when two unidentified individuals emerged from a silver Honda Fit and allegedly shot him in the leg.

Mills, who is reportedly also known by the alias “Mega” was immediately transported to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment, where he remains hospitalized.

Medical staff have indicated that his injury is not life-threatening, though further evaluations will be conducted to determine if surgery will be required.

According to the police, officers from the Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit (FERU) have processed the scene.

Sources tell Observer media that this was not the first time that Mills has been shot and one person said this might have been the second or third time that attempts have been made on his life.

The lawmen are asking anyone who may have information that could help identify the individuals responsible to contact the Grays Farm Police Station at 462-0481 or the Crimestoppers hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
