Antigua and Barbuda fell to a second straight defeat in the ongoing Jean Pierre Under-16 Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament when, on Monday, they were beaten 31-7 by St Lucia at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
The loss to St Lucia came just 24 hours after the Antigua and Barbuda team fell 46-7 against host Barbados on Sunday’s opening nights at the same venue.
In their latest defeat, goal attack Kendra Aska sank four of her five attempts while goal shoot Summer Buckley chipped in with three of her seven attempts.
For St Lucia, goal attack Naija Ferdinand led the charge with 22 of 29 attempts. Clarise Navais and Haily Thomas, both goal shoots, hit four of eight and five of five respectively.
In Monday’s other clash, Barbados outgunned Dominica winning their second straight match by a 41-16 margin. They were led by goal shoot, Makel Alleyne, who sank 29 of her 31 attempts while goal attack Tyesha Trotman hit a perfect six of six attempts. Substitute goal shoot, Tyra Griffith chipped in with a perfect two of two with substitute goal attack Brianna Wallace also had a perfect game with four of her four attempts.
In a losing effort, goal attack Valinda Winston led the scoring for Dominica with 10 of 16 attempts while goal attack, Dian Augustine bagged six of 10.
