As part of a Social Studies project, the Governor General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams and Prime Minister Gaston Browne hosted an engaging session with Grade One students from the Five Islands Primary School on Monday morning at the Parliament Building.
The visit was designed to provide the students with a first-hand look at leadership and governance and the leaders spoke with the eager students on important topics, which included “stranger danger”, self-confidence, the workings of government and parliament, and the importance of striving for excellence.

Sir Rodney encouraged the students to stay focused on their education, remain determined, and aim high to achieve great things, while PM Browne reinforced the importance of developing good habits to become responsible citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.
Addressing the recent passing of their schoolmate, Chantel Crump, both leaders expressed their condolences and reassured students that the government is committed to their safety. They urged them to be cautious, avoid strangers, and always report any concerns to their teachers or parents.
