Massiah doubles his earnings with win in second phase of Jermaine Kentish Birthday Golf Shootout

For the second time in a row, national golfer Dion Massiah walked away from the Cedar Valley Golf Course a bit richer than he arrived after capturing the second instalment of the Jermaine Kentish 50th Birthday Shootout on Tuesday, one day after claiming the top prize in the first phase of the event on Sunday.

In the grand finale, the zero handicapper took care of Omorry James via a chip-off after both players parred the last hole during the run of play. Massiah collected $400 while James, who finished third on Sunday, was awarded $200 for finishing as the runner-up.

Former West Indies all-rounder Eldine “Soca” Baptiste ended in the third spot and took home $100.

A total of 15 golfers took part in Tuesday’s championship which was sponsored by Total Imports, William Lewis, Errol Hodge, Eighteen Plus One Restaurant and Senator Michael Freeland.
