Jason King of Willikies and Simone Parkes of Parham Strikers were crowned King and Queen of Domino for 2024 when the Antigua and Barbuda National Domino Association (ABNDA) recently held its awards and presentation ceremony.
Both King and Parkes amassed the maximum total of three points to be crowned the top players in their divisions last year. Zenus Williams (two points) of Dominatrixx and Johnny Joseph (one point) of Highly Favoured were second and third respectively in the men’s division. Suria Maxim (two points) of Highly Favoured and Patricia Lewis (one point) of Bolans, were second and third respectively in the women’s division.
The Bolans pair of Charlton McKenzie and Patricia Lewis proved too good for their competitors, amassing the maximum three points to claim the President Pair title. They defeated the pair of Kaid Jarvis of Boland and Kemisha Charles of Triple Dynamite who finished second with two points while Adella John and Derrick John, both of Ramplers, were third with one point.
In the 500 Pairs, Zenus Williams and Mclean Harve, both of Dominatrixx, were too much for their competitors, claiming the top prize in their division with three points. The pair of Kenny Charles and Lorraine Richardson, both of Willikies, finished second with two points while Dale Henry of Double Six and Parkes from Parham Strikers, joined forces to finish third with one point.
The Mix Pairs competition was dominated by King and Sharon Williams of Willikies with three points with Charles and Richardson, both of Willikies, grabbed the second position with two points. Jarvis and Kemisha Charles finished third.
Natalie Heron and Amisha-Ann Eusebe both of Eagles, captured the Female Pairs while George and Obrien, both of Fire, won the male equivalent.
Double Six captured the Team 3 Hand title with Parham Strikers and Unstoppables finishing second and third with two and one point respectively.
Willikies emerged the top team for 2024 with 11 points while Bolans was second with 10.5 points. Dominatrixx amassed eight points in the third position with Double Six in fourth with 7.5 points while Parham Strikers round off the top five with 5.5 points.
Highly Favoured (5), Legacy (4), Ramplers (4), Eagle Eye International (3), Fire (3), Unstoppable (3), Triple Dynamite (1.5), Rising Star (1), Bravo (0) and Dull Clip (0) occupy positions six through to 15 on the 2024 standings.
