The much-hyped Night of Champions 2025 lived up to expectation when the Ministry of Sports Schools Basketball Competitions concluded with spectacular performances across all divisions, as fans saw Greenbay Primary School dominate the primary categories and Clare Hall Secondary School capture the prestigious Senior Boys title.
Greenbay Primary emerged as the powerhouse of primary school basketball, claiming championships in both the Minigirls and Miniboys Primary divisions.
In the Minigirls final, Greenbay convincingly defeated Five Islands Primary 9-2, led by tournament MVP Esther Hunte, who contributed six points in the championship game. Hunte’s stellar performances throughout the tournament also earned her the Zone A MVP honors, capping off a remarkable season for the young star.
The Miniboys from Greenbay were even more impressive, overwhelming Cedar Grove Primary 27-7 in their championship showdown. Raylin Rodriguez, who was named both tournament MVP and Zone A MVP, put on a show with nine points in the final. Cedar Grove’s Khai Charles fought valiantly with 5 points, but it was way below par to overcome the Greenbay juggernaut.







The secondary school competitions provided fans with edge-of-your-seat excitement and outstanding individual performances.
St Joseph’s Academy continued their dynasty in the Miniboys Secondary division, securing their third consecutive championship with a hard-fought 26-20 victory over Princess Margaret School. Tournament MVP Erije Joseph led SJA with 13 points, while Elijah Charleskept PMS competitive with 12 points. SJA also claimed the regular season league championship, followed by Princess Margaret and Antigua Grammar School.
In the Junior Boys category, Antigua Grammar School edged Princess Margaret School 32-26 in a balanced scoring effort. MVP Raheem Sawyer and teammate Jordan Andrewcontributed eight points each, matching the output of PMS’s Gabriel De Suza, who was also named Zone B MVP.
Perhaps the most dramatic final of the night came in the Senior Girls division, where Princess Margaret School narrowly defeated Christ the King High School 24-23. Lena Mills (7 points) and tournament MVP Kayla Melvin (5 points) led PMS, while Jodaliah Constant put forth a valiant effort for CKHS with a game-high 14 points. Princess Margaret also secured the league championship in this division.
The night’s most spectacular individual performance came in the Senior Boys final, where Clare Hall Secondary School’s Tajahron Davis put on a scoring clinic with an astounding 42 points, leading his team to a decisive 55-30 victory over Antigua Grammar School. Davis’s remarkable output accounted for more than 76 percent of his team’s total points, overwhelming AGS despite Raheem Sawyer‘s 13-point effort.
Davis swept the individual honors in the Senior Boys division, claiming tournament MVP, league MVP, and the prestigious Male Player of the Year award across all divisions.
Coach Cedric ‘Supa’ David was named Coach of the Year after an impressive showing, guiding four teams to the finals, winning one championship, finishing as runner-up in three divisions, and securing three league championships.
