The dominance of national junior cyclist, Tahje Browne, continued on the local scene on Sunday as the 17-year-old outpaced his Elite Class competitors to capture the Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Federation’s (ABCF) Individual Time Trial.
Browne representing the Wadadli Cycling Academy, registered a time of 25 minutes and 20.43 (25:20.43) seconds to comfortably beat Elite Class competitor, Jahiem Telemaque. Telemaque, also representing Wadadli Cycling Academy, registered a time of 26:06.22 seconds for the overall silver but finished first in the Elite Class.
Another Elite Class Rider, Abbiel Flemming grabbed the bronze, clocking 26:20.14 to finish third while Delvin Peters registered a time of 26:57.09 to finish fourth overall and third in the Elite Class. Both Flemming and Peters represented Team Pillars Cycling.

Masters competitor, Wayne Henry of Team Pillars Cycling, dominated his class with a time of 27:11.73 but finished fifth overall in the race against time. Junior Male competitor, Aiden Tonge, pedalled his way to silver in that category in a time of 27:34.49 while finishing sixth overall with Conroy Thomas finished seventh overall, crossing the line in a time of 28:16.46. Tonge represented Team Viper while Thomas pedalled for Team Terminix.
Finishing eighth overall, veteran Shawn Weathered of Team Pillars Cycling, clocked 28:17.27 to finish fifth in the Elite Male category while Jomari King of Team Viper, registered a time of 28:29.65 to cross the line in the ninth position.
Brent George of Team Pillars Cycling rounds off the top 10 finishers overall, clocking a time of 29:56.84 to capture the Sports Class. The other podium finishers in the Sports Class are Steve Scott and Dexter Simmons who finished second and third respectively.
In the Masters Class, Micah Gore of Road Runners Cycling Club (30:05.12) and Jamel Gloade (30:14.41) who rode as an independent, finished second and third respectively.
There was action as well in the Cadets 11-14 category with Team Vipers’ Elite Thomasdominate in a time of 18:36.45. Benjamin Carr of Team Pillars Cycling finished second in a time of 19:51.34 with Luis Ozuna of Wadadli Cycling Academy grabbing the bronze with a time 23:04.91.
The lone competitor in the Female Class, Telesha Choy, clocked a time of 37:26.30. Both the Cadets and the Female Class competed over shorter distances.
