Anthony blazes 84 as Dredgers and Female Flyers remain unbeaten in ABSCA T10 Competition

Leeward Islands all-rounder Kimberley Anthony smashed 84 for Survivors while Dredgers Cricket Club extended their wins count to four and Alzarri/Sharon Joseph North Sails Female Flyers stayed unbeaten on Sunday in the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Cricket Association (ABSCA) Rudy Mathew 10-Overs Competition.

Anthony‘s explosive batting led Survivors to their second win of the day against Police, winning by nine wickets. Survivors posted an imposing 104 for three, with Anthony smashing 84 not out, including eight fours and seven sixes.  In response, Police could only manage 54 for one in their 10 overs, as Lilieth Joseph top-scoring with 22. Jeniecee Russell took one for 15 for the Survivors.

Dredgers, playing in their first home match of the season, secured a comfortable nine-wicket win over MIX Up Stars. MIX Up posted 73 for five in their 10 overs, with N Thomas top-scoring with 27. Kirt Douglas was the pick of the Dredgers bowlers with three for eight, supported by Mervin Higgins two for 13.

Dredgers made light work of the chase, reaching 74 for one in just 5 overs. Douglas contributed 24, while Loy Weste remained unbeaten on 18.

They then claimed their second victory of the day with a three-wicket win over Buckleys 3Js who were dismissed for 92, with Gregson Merrick contributing 19. Rae Charles (3/21) and Stelbert Plant (2/19) were the leading bowlers for Dredgers.

In reply, Dredgers reached 95 for five in 9.2 overs, with Weste again playing a crucial role making 31 runs.

In the Women’s Division, Bullets secured a comprehensive 66-run victory over Rockets. Batting first, Bullets amassed 113 for one, as Cheryl Williams falling just short of a half-century with 49 not out. Annette Frank (22 not out) and Lana Thomas (21) provided valuable support.

In response, Rockets were restricted to 47 for three in their 10 overs, with Ann Marie Parker unbeaten on 19 and Alliah Cornelius adding 16.

The Flyers crushed Rockets by nine wickets in a one-sided contest. Rockets were restricted to just 40 for seven in their 10 overs, with Gaynel O’garro taking an impressive three for six.

Flyers needed just 2.5 overs to reach their target, finishing at 41 for one with Makada Samuel Hector scoring 24 not out.

At Powells, PMS defeated home side Bullets by six wickets in a solid all-round performance. Bullets batted first, posting 77 for six in their allotted 10 overs, as Almage Webster (21) and Kimani George (17) provided the bulk of the runs. Kenny Benjamin impressed with the ball for PMS, taking two for six, while Ashfield Weatherhead claimed two for 14.

In reply, PMS reached their target in 9.4 overs, finishing at 78 for four. Benjamin backed up his bowling performance with an unbeaten 27, while Vishal Gobin contributed 21. Kerry Burton was the most successful bowler for Bullets, taking two for 12.

Rackaman ConstructionStrictly Business proceeded to hand Bullets their second defeat of the day, winning by seven wickets. Bullets set a challenging 103 for six, with Vernon Samuel (23), Kimani George (18), and Vaughn Charles (16) all making valuable contributions. Adrian Abbott was the standout bowler for Strictly Business with three for 22, supported by Ricky Sebastian‘s two for 20.

The chase proved straightforward for Strictly Business, who raced to 104 for three in just 7.2 overs. Jevon Howell led the charge with 31, while Owen Graham (21 not out) and Kim George (16) ensured a comfortable victory. Kimani George took all three wickets for Bullets, finishing with three for 18.

Strictly Business secured their second win of the day by defeating PMS by seven wickets. PMS got to 86 for seven, as Benjamin (15) and Walter Carr (14) the top scorers. Graham (2/15) and Melvin Charles (2/12) were the most effective bowlers for Strictly Business.

The run chase was handled confidently by Strictly Business, who reached 91 for three in 9.1 overs. Raymond Leadette played a commanding innings of 35 not out, well supported by Graham’s unbeaten 24.

Buckleys 3Js dominated Goodys with a 56-run victory. Batting first, 3Js posted 88 for three from their 10 overs, anchored by Richie Thomas‘ unbeaten 25 and Nigel Fergus‘ 14.

In reply, Goodys were completely outplayed, managing only 32 for five in their 10 overs. Kennedy Tonge was the lone batsman to reach double figures with 18. Rodney Williamsdelivered a match-winning spell for 3Js, taking three for eight including a maiden over.

Goodys bounced back emphatically in their second match, demolishing MIX Up Stars by 10 wickets. MIX Up Stars were skittled for just 18 for six in 6.4 overs in a batting collapse. Goodys needed only 2 overs to chase down the target without losing a wicket, finishing at 19 without loss.

In the Women’s Division, Survivors claimed an eight-wicket victory over Potters Uprising. Potters batted first and reached 74 for three, with Jemma Joseph and Stacey Telemacque both scoring 17. Gale Lee (1/10) and Kimberly Anthony (1/11) were economical with the ball.

Survivors reached their target with three balls to spare, finishing at 75 for two in 9.3 overs. Grace Persaud led the chase with an unbeaten 32, well supported by Stacey Bright‘s 29.
