Two women walking home from a local bread shop were left shaken after a suspicious vehicle, A70439, slowed down beside them, repeatedly urging them to “jump in.” The vehicleโs door remained wide open as if ready to pick them up, and despite the women ignoring the calls, it continued trailing them at a slow pace. Unknown to the individuals in the car, a police pickup was following behind. The officers, noticing the suspicious behavior, questioned the women, who confirmed they did not know the occupants. As soon as police activated their lights, the vehicle suddenly sped off, prompting a chase.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns about public safety, with the victims questioning whether people can still walk the streets of Antigua without fear. They emphasized the urgent need for increased police patrols and strict monitoring of heavily tinted vehicles, which could be used for criminal activities.
