Jennings United improved their chances of automatic promotion to the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s (ABFA) Premier Division with a confident 5-1 victory over Police when they met in the body’s First Division on Tuesday.
Playing at the FA’s Technical Center, United were led by Jean-Pierre Williams’ double strike as the player netted on either side of the half. Williams put the Jennings men ahead on minute 13 before wrapping up the contest with a 90th minute strike to also complete his brace. Kemon Samuel was also amongst the goal-scorers for Jennings, hitting the back of the net in minute 40 while Shaquille Watkins and Rasheed Lambert scored in minutes 52 and 82 respectively.
The win lifts United to 33 points from 14 showings and second behind leaders Rangers who have 34 points after 13 games.
Adrian Barron scored the lone goal for the lawmen as they remain on seven points after 14 outings and second from bottom on the standings.

Freeman’s Village Scorpions also enjoyed a comfortable triumph on Tuesday, beating Lion Hill FC 5-0 when they met at Freeman’s Village.
There were double-strikes from Roy Gregory and Darius Hector to lead the promotion hopefuls to their ninth win in 14 matches this season. Gregory struck in minutes 49 and 73 while Hector shook the opponent’s net in minutes 70 and 74. Robert Abraham had given Scorpions the lead on minute 36.
The win propels Freeman’s Village to 29 points after 14 appearances and third on the standings while Lion Hill remain on 11 points after the same number of outings.
In the other match contested Tuesday, SAP FC edged a relentless FC Master Ballers 1-0 as they move to 28 points following their eighth win in 13 showings. Emerson Henry scored the only goal of the match when he struck in minute 36.
The loss was Ballers’ eighth in 14 matches as they remain on 14 points and in the lower half of the standings.
