Intensive search efforts remain underway for 9-year-old Chantel Crump, who has been missing since Wednesday. Contrary to reports circulating on some information platforms, senior law enforcement officials have confirmed that neither her school uniform nor her bag has been recovered.
Authorities conducted a thorough search of an apartment in Glanvilles where two suspects—a man and a woman—were taken into custody on Thursday afternoon in connection with the child’s disappearance. As part of these efforts, investigators also drained a cistern at the residence late Thursday. Police have confirmed that no trace of the child or her belongings was discovered during these searches.
The female suspect, who was driving a Honda when she picked up Chantel on Wednesday afternoon in Grays Farm, remains in police custody and is undergoing continued questioning. While she has acknowledged taking the child, investigators report she has provided inconsistent accounts of subsequent events. The man believed to be her partner has also been detained.
Police are urging anyone with information that could help locate Chantel and reunite her with her family to contact their nearest police station immediately.
