A man who allegedly shot at another man while he was driving through St John’s has been found guilty.
Damien Joseph was convicted of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for shooting at Kelvin Constant on May 30, 2022.
The alleged incident occurred on High Street at about 7.30pm.
The complainant was said to be driving along High Street in a pickup when he spotted the defendant and his cousin walking on the same road but in the opposite direction.
According to reports, when the accused was just a few feet away, he discharged a firearm at the lower part of the windscreen, shattering the tweeter for a speaker.
The bullet, which missed the passenger, was reportedly lodged in the cabin of the truck. However, he quickly called 911 and reported the matter.
Last week, a judge-only trial began in the High Court where Joseph appeared, unrepresented.
Prosecutor Curtis Cornelius presented evidence that led Justice Ann Marie Smith to find the man guilty.
He is now awaiting sentencing which could take place some time in May.
