Jenicia Nanton Denies Involvement in Abduction of Chantel Crump

Jenicia Nanton has strongly denied allegations that she was involved in the disappearance of Chantel Crump, calling the accusations baseless and distressing.

Nanton stated that she became aware of the claims after turning on her phone and seeing multiple missed calls and messages. According to her, social media posts and group chats, both in Antigua and New York, circulated her photo alongside claims that she had abducted Crump.

“Well, yesterday my phone was not on. When I turned on my phone, I kept getting missed calls. I got some calls on WhatsApp saying that my picture is up, stating that I kidnapped the young lady, Chantel Crump, yesterday, which I have no information about. I know nothing about that at all,” Nanton said, urging individuals to stop spreading misinformation about her.

Nanton further revealed that she had not been contacted by law enforcement regarding the matter. However, she suggested that her presence at police headquarters the previous day—where she had accompanied her cousin following an alleged instance of police brutality—may have contributed to the rumors.

“I haven’t been in contact about it. Yesterday, police brutally beat my cousin. I went to the headquarters with him. So I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s because they saw me at the headquarters that made them believe I was involved,” she explained.

In response to the false claims, Nanton confirmed that she has sought legal counsel to address the situation and clear her name.

“I have contacted my lawyer already about the situation because it’s been on Troll Antigua on Facebook. A lot of people have been calling me, and it’s very disturbing. It’s very shameful to me because I have children, and I don’t want my name to be involved in these things,” she said.

As of now, there has been no official statement from law enforcement regarding the allegations against Nanton or any connection between her and the missing person case.
