Antigua’s Attorney General has announced that Scotland Yard detectives will soon arrive on the island to aid in the investigations of the brutal murders of two teenage girls, Achazia James and Yennifer Bridge.
Bridge, 16, was found dead on June 28 in a wooded area along Fig Tree Drive, just hours after her two-year-old son was discovered alone. Two months later, James, 15, was found dead on a beach in August, with one of her hands apparently severed.
The government stated, “The Scotland Yard detectives will assist the Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal Police Force to solve these murders and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
In a related development, Cabinet has confirmed that Canadian forensic pathologist Dr. Alfredo Walker will conduct the autopsy on former MP Asot Michael, who was killed on November 5.
A 27-year-old man, Alexta Francis, has been charged with Michael’s murder.
