High Court Dismisses Murder Case Against Berle Wallace Jr

The High Court has dismissed the murder case against Berle Wallace Jr. in connection with the 2022 death of personal trainer Christopher Smithers.

Justice Ann Marie Smith upheld the defense’s no-case submission, ruling that there was insufficient evidence to prove intent.

Wallace Jr., who had been in custody for nearly three years, was accused of fatally stabbing Smithers, 36, during a confrontation outside a popular food establishment on St. John’s Street on March 1, 2022.

Smithers later succumbed to his injuries at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

With the case now dismissed, Wallace Jr. is expected to be released from custody.
