The final two victims of the CESSNA crash in Dominica have been recovered, the Martinique prefecture announced on February 12. Their remains will undergo forensic examinations before being returned to their families.
French gendarmerie teams from Chamonix assisted Dominican officials with the challenging recovery, as the aircraft crashed into a cliffside in La Plaine on January 26 after departing Charles-Douglas Airport. Initial recovery efforts on January 28 retrieved two bodies.
An investigation is ongoing into the crash, which claimed the lives of all four Martinique passengers: Captain Jean-Benoit Agathe, co-pilot Marving Belizon, and passengers Kylian Besube, 22, and Marcelline Martinon, 24.
