Caribbean visitors now outnumber Canadian tourists in Antigua and Barbuda, ranking behind only the U.S. and U.K. in arrivals. The resurgence in regional travel is attributed to improved air connectivity, particularly with LIAT’s return.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez welcomed the trend, citing economic benefits for local businesses.
While external economic factors could impact global travel, the government remains optimistic that strong regional demand and Antigua and Barbuda’s premium appeal will sustain growth.
