Governor General Sir Rodney Williams has officially set March 26, 2025, as the date for the Barbuda Council elections, according to a writ of election issued under the Barbuda Local Government Act.
The upcoming elections will fill five seats on the Barbuda Council, replacing the retiring group of members in accordance with Section 14(2) of the Act, which mandates regular elections at two-year intervals.
The writ, signed on February 15, states that the previous Council election was held on March 29, 2023, establishing the required two-year timeframe between electoral cycles.
