The Cabinet and the Poultry Association have agreed to delay a proposed increase in egg prices. Prime Minister Gaston Browne informed the association that the Cabinet is considering removing import duties and taxes on eggs.
The association requested the price hike due to heat waves and rising feed costs. A 60-day study will evaluate egg production expenses, and a new Poultry Board will be established to regulate pricing.
Additionally, the Cabinet discussed potential discounts on APUA water and expressed concerns about the association importing feed and potentially taking advantage of consumers.
