Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel revoked a bench warrant for suspended police officer Karim Warner after he apologized for missing a court date.
Warner, who faces charges of discharging a firearm and assault, explained the absence was due to a misunderstanding about the date.
The charges relate to a December incident in which Warner allegedly fired 12 shots at a vehicle during a dispute over a leased car.
He has pleaded not guilty, and his trial is scheduled for November 26.
