The House of Representatives has approved the Anti-Gang Bill 2024, aimed at curbing gang activity and maintaining public order.
The bill targets gang participation, recruitment, and weapon possession, granting police the power to arrest without a warrant in certain situations.
It also mandates that offenders serve at least half of their maximum sentence and face consecutive sentences for multiple crimes.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne, Sir Steadroy Cutie Benjamin, and other House members debated the bill before its passage.
