Nineteen-year-old Clarence Cameron from Bendals, Antigua, has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison for the alleged murder of 17-year-old Omarrie Graham, also from Bendals.
Appearing for the first time in the country’s District B Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, Cameron was remanded by Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.
Magistrates lack jurisdiction to grant bail for offenses like murder.
The accusation stems from an altercation on Saturday night, resulting in Graham’s lifeless body discovered on the western side of the road near St Luke’s Anglican Church in Bendals.
Examination revealed stab wounds on Graham’s left side of the neck, forearm, and wrist.
This marked the country’s fourth homicide this year.
