ANTIGUAN PARTICIPATES IN U.S. SPONSORED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown is pleased to announce that J’Moul Francis, a Legal Officer at the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).  He is currently in the United Sates participating in an exchange entitled “Managing Foreign Aid and Foreign Direct Investment”.  This three-week initiative which runs from May 22 to June 9 involves over 70 international participants from more than 50 countries.  Participants will visit Washington D.C., Salt Lake City, Utah, Austin, Texas, and other American cities to review U.S. foreign policy and objectives in the international economic system.  During the program participants will explore the variety of funding mechanisms available for national and local economic development with a focus on the nexus of business opportunities and development priorities; and examine international economic cooperation in the context of the growth, support, and integration of emerging markets into the world economy.

The International Visitor Leadership Program is the Department of State’s premier professional exchange program and brings together emerging leaders in their respective professions to learn how US experts in their profession operate, and to share best practices with the other program fellows who hail from the same region and across the globe.
