A 16-year-old male has been detained by police as the second suspect in the robbery and flare gun shooting at St Joseph’s Academy. He will be questioned and could be charged later this week.
It comes on the heels of a 17-year-old being charged with Robbery and Shooting with Intent to do Serious Bodily Harm in connection with the same incident. Their names cannot be revealed because they are minors.
Police allege they were the two males seen on the school’s surveillance camera robbing an employee and injuring him with a flare gun shortly after 6 pm on June 4.
The 17-year-old who was charged on Saturday evening has also been indicted for Robbery in connection with two previous incidents on April 11 in Villa and May 14 at Campsite.
