Popular Jamaican reggae artiste, Jah Cure whose real name is Siccature Alcock, was sentenced to no less than 8 years in jail after he allegedly stabbed an event promotor.
Following the incident, Alcock was detained in The Netherlands and he has since remained there.
Today, as he stood before the Dutch court, his claims of self-defense were rejected and the prosecutor showed evidence that it was a premeditated act.
The alleged stabbing followed a heated argument over money owed to the artiste by the promoter for a concert he performed at the Melkweg totaling $5000 Euros.
This is not Jah Cure’s first run-in with the law; he previously served eight years of a 15-year sentence convicted for two counts of illegal possession of a firearm, rape and robbery with aggravation.
