The course will also develop the individual’s appreciation of the French culture. Upon completion of the syllabus, participants will be able to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

The curriculum will be administered over two years and commences on February 01, 2022, at the ABWU Headquarters on Lower Newgate Street. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Learning will be facilitated through a variety of modalities to include lectures, oral presentations, demonstrations, videos, audios, role play, games and group discussions.

Training coordinator at the ABWU, Sis. Hazel Luke is delighted to launch the French course. “Gone are the days when the Union’s only role was to fight for better wages. We are a progressive organization and we want to empower our membership through training,” Luke posits.

In recent years, the ABWU facilitated courses in Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Gender Parity, Youth Intervention, as well as Mental and Emotional Wellness.

The Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union has been able to offer these courses through partnerships it has nurtured with private organizations and professionals.
