Some remarkable news for the tourism sector- Two Oasis Class ships is set to visit our shores in April 2022 giving the economy a much-needed major boost.
Minister for Tourism Max Fernandez confirmed that major work is underway to accommodate the massive vessel.
He also explained that all will be completed in February of 2022 and the country will see the arrival of the first oasis Class ship in March.
Oasis Class is a class of the Royal Caribbean International cruise ships, and has been deemed the largest ships in the world. There are five Oasis Class ships: Oasis of The Seas, Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas which is currently undergoing trials.
Oasis of the Seas has a mass of about 100,000 Tonnes and can carry up to 5,400 passengers. The ship also carries 18 lifeboats that hold 370 people each, for a total of 6,660 people.
Meanwhile, Redcliff Quay vendors are to regain direct access to cruise ships and passengers. The initial phase of repairs to connect Redcliff Quay and the boardwalk to the cruise port is now complete.
