Tribute to the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Harold Lovell, the United Progressive Party’s political leader, remembers Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who died in 2011.

We all have distinct parts and roles to play in life’s drama. Desmond Tutu was a preacher, prophet, and philosopher who served as Archbishop of South Africa.

Lovell adds, “He had that voice at a time when South Africa and the world needed a strong voice of truth and boldness.”

According to the opposition leader, he symbolized the soul of his nation and served as a global anti-apartheid hero who gave his people hope and spiritual force.

“We will remember the richness of his humanity, his sharpness with infectious laughter and a wide grin,” Lovell said.

Rest in peace, God’s faithful servant and friend to mankind.
