Potter vows to mount clean-up campaign in Rural South, since MP Matthew has failed to address unsanitary conditions

Gladys Potter is pledging to mount a clean-up exercise in St. John’s Rural South, since the parliamentary representative, Daryl Matthew, has failed to do anything about unsanitary conditions in the community.

Potter, the United Progressive Party (UPP) Candidate for that constituency, has complained many times about the state of the area, with its overgrown brush and filthy drains.

Potter, who operates a food business, says the filth has impacted her, since stagnant water settles in the gutter located close to her shop.

Meanwhile, the UPP Candidate is looking further afield and calling for an island-wide clean-up, since unsanitary and unsightly conditions also exist in other constituencies.

Constituents should not have to mount clean-up campaigns themselves – not after they have elected someone to ensure that such things are attended to, Potter says.(Real News)
