“I was fired”, former Education Minister explains

Michael Browne Member of Parliament fort All Saints West emphasizes that he was fired by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, not resigning from his position.

“I was fired as Minister of Education, Science, and Technology as a result.” I learned via hearsay and press articles that I had resigned.

“I never resigned; I was fired as Minister of Education, which is understandable; I respect the decision that was made,” he says.

Browne went on to say that he recognized the predicament that PM Browne was facing at the time.

“This is why, regardless of whether I was fired as Minister of Education or resigned, I never fought the struggle,” he added.

Michael Browne was charged with a major offence in November of last year; but, due to the nature of the case, no additional information may be released.

Following the situation, he was removed from his position as Education Minister and replaced by Daryl Matthew, the Minister of Festivals at the time.

Browne may continue his work inside the Labour Party Administration, but not in the same capacity as before, according to the Prime Minister.
