Country may miss deadline for Herd Immunity as more vaccine mandates to come

Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne is concerned that the country may miss the deadline for herd immunity at the end of the year.

The news was announced on Saturday by PM Browne that the twin-island state may face more vaccine mandates as fears grow that the country will not achieve herd immunity by the end of the year.

These mandates have previously been created by the government for the public sector, with critical services and other industries, private industry employers with five or more workers, and eligible students and teachers in the educational system.

Restaurant and bar owners, employers, and customers who would like to dine are all obliged to be immune.

In his recent radio interview, the Prime Minister stressed that the nation needs to return to normalcy as soon as humanly possible and therefore more mandates will be introduced.
