Police are probing circumstances surrounding Jane Finch’s post-mortem results and an early morning shooting

A post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday, October 26 has disclosed that the cause of death of 66-year-old Jane Finch of Piccadilly is consistent with the injuries she sustained on the night of October 4.

Finch’s body was discovered inside her home with injuries to her head.

A female suspect, who was allegedly inside the home when lawmen responded to a report made by Finch, was taken into custody and later charged for “breaking and entering.”

The police have still not charged anyone with the murder of Finch as they continue to probe the matter.

Still, on news involving the Police, an alleged robbery and shooting incident which took place at a supermarket in the Falmouth area earlier Wednesday 27, October is being investigated by the police.

It was reported that the owner of the supermarket had just arrived at the business place when he was accosted by two armed suspects who robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.

Gunshots were reportedly fired during the incident; however, no one was injured.

Both suspects were described to be dark in complexion, over 5ft in height, one stalky and one slimly built and both dressed in all dark clothing.

Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that resulted in a Grays Farm man nursing multiple gunshot wounds at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center.

The 30yr old man was found inside an abandoned building at Piccadilly shortly after 10:00 am on Wednesday 27th October.

He was transported to the hospital, where doctors reported that his condition is stable.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious activities to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crimestoppers at 800-Tips (8477).

In an unrelated incident, Benjamin Silcott of Cassada Gardens who was sought by the police for a series of alleged home invasions at the northern side of the island is now in custody.

He has so far been charged for breaking into a home in Blue Waters and stealing a bottle of water.

Future investigations are ongoing into other alleged incidents
