Nigerian couple under the CIP’s radar for fraudulent actions

Amid media reports that alleged fraudsters’ Nigerian couple Bamise and Elizabeth Ajetunmobi who allegedly conned investors, defrauding them of an estimated 22 billion Naira were holders of Antigua and Barbuda passports, the Citizenship by Investment Unit has stated the matter.

It has been confirmed that the couple were granted citizenship in April 2021 having applied under the Programme and as is customary, the application was subjected to intense internal examination by the Unit’s team of certified Compliance specialists.

According to the Unit, after the investigations, nothing disparaging was identified concerning the applicants nor their affiliate business interests and no Interpol Red Notice had been issued for either of the two.

The Unit says it is awaiting the issuance of an official statement by the authorities in Nigeria adding that according to their information that no arrest warrants have been issued nor official proceedings against the couple initiated.

Media reports from Nigeria allege that the couple, both founders of Imagine Global Solution Limited, an investment company based in Lagos Nigeria are said to be on the run with a bounty set for anyone who can locate them.

Several investors of the company took to social media alleging that the company defrauded them of investment which they placed in the hands of Imagine Global Solutions Ltd in exchange for high returns.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced in Parliament last week that the couple would be apprehended if they entered the country.
