Covid-19 Numbers Continue to rise in Antigua and Barbuda

The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre has revealed eight (8) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Wednesday 1st September 2021 at 6pm.

Sixty (60) samples were processed at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand seven hundred and fifty (1750); which is inclusive of three hundred and fifty-seven (357) active cases. There are twenty-six (26) hospitalized cases; nineteen (19) mild, three (3) moderate and four (4) severe.

Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty four thousand and eight (34,008) individuals while seven thousand and fifty-three (7,053) have only received their first dose.

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

*Please note that two additional deaths were recorded today; one at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and one in Barbuda. These deaths will be reflected in the dashboard for September 2, 2021.

*The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment apologizes for the late publication of the Covid-19 situation report which will provide a detailed breakdown of the imported and non-imported cases as well as other statistical data. Due to inadvertent developments, the revised date for the publication will be September 3, 2021.
