CDC issues a Level 3 travel notice for Antigua and Barbuda

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a Level 3 – High Risk, Travel Health Notice for Antigua and Barbuda.

The country previously enjoyed a level 2- Moderate rank.

This latest move by the CDC is a result of the steady rise in new COVID-19 infections on the island.

The CDC warned travellers that they should not travel to the destination unless necessary but if they do intent to travel they should ensure that they are fully vaccinated.

Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine the CDC said.

Earlier this year the county was on the CDC’s top tier which is level 4-very high risk.
