For the second time in May Beeezzy’s Shoppers and several other stores around St. John’s town have been broken into.
On May 20 at 4:25 a.m a thief broke into Beeezzy’s, a Grocery and Home Goods Store on Cross Street, St. John’s Antigua. Footages from the store camera identified the thief to be a light-skinned male who was wearing white jeans, and a short-sleeve white polo shirt, with his head wrapped in a white cloth.
The owner of the store, Dawn Omard, told reporters from Antiguan Trumpet that the robber stole a large number of drinks, food supplies, hygiene products and candy bars. He also explained that other nearby stores were also robbed that same morning.
“When I came into the store at about 7:45 a.m, I realized that the place was totally disturbed on the inside. I called the police and then retrieved for the DVR camera system. The robber attempted to go with it but placed it down when he was searching through and he seemed to have forgotten it. However, recordings were being backed up to the cloud, so we have found the footage.”
“I suspect that the bandit knows the area because according to the cameras he first walked by the front and then went through a space between a local Government office and another store to gain access through the back of my property,” Omard Revealed.
At approximately 8:15 a.m, about 15-20 minutes after Omard reported the break-in, two officers from the CID arrived and then two hours later the Forensic team showed up on the scene carrying out investigations.
“The robbery is still under investigation and we are asking that, if anyone has any information on who the robber is to please help us to take him off of the street,” Omard explains
