FIREARM HOLDERS REMINDED TO RENEW THEIR LICENSES IN MAY OR FACE PENALTIES

Firearm holders will face a penalty if they do not renew their licenses in a timely manner, the Police are reminding the public.

Renewals are now taking place and will run until the end of May.

“This is in accordance with Section 40 (4) of the Firearms Act, Cap. 171, of the Laws of Antigua and Barbuda, as amended,” a notice from the Police says.

Persons are required to present their firearms to the Licensing Officer before renewal can be done.

They are then required to pay the licensing fee at the Revenue Collection Department at Police Headquarters, which operates from 8a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Firearm holders will be required to pay late fees if they miss the renewal date.
