Winners of the CCEC’s Healthy Lifestyle Challenge Receive Healthy Treats

In a continued effort to recognise the crucial role that healthcare workers play, especially at this time, Executive Chef at Sandals Grande Antigua Sandeep Supakar hands over two of the fruit baskets that he prepared for the winners of the Cancer Centre Eastern Caribbean’s (CCEC) 2nd Annual Healthy Lifestyle Challenge.

First place winner,  Oncology Nurse and Clinical Coordinator Melissa Telemaque, accepts the healthy treats after having lost 31 pounds in the three-month period.

The oncology nurse spearheaded the CCEC initiative, which began on January 4, and challenged the 13 participants to lead healthy lifestyles through proper diet and physical activity.

The second and third place winners lost 27 and 26 pounds respectively.

This token of appreciation comes on the heels of an announcement by Sandals Resorts International that 300 healthcare workers across the region, 30 of whom will be residents in Antigua & Barbuda, will be gifted with complimentary two-night stays at its resorts.
