LOVELL CALLS FOR CHARITY, AND NOT DISCRIMINATION, FOR VINCENTIANS

Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Harold Lovell says citizens and residents should not discriminate against nationals of St. Vincent & The Grenadines who might be seeking refuge here.

As Vincentians are being evacuated to neighbouring Caribbean islands, Antigua and Barbuda has committed to accommodate 250 persons.

However, some locals are expressing trepidation over the move, with questions being asked regarding who will feed them, how long they will be here for, and the status of their COVID-19 health.

But Lovell says now is not the time for xenophobic (zeno-phobic) comments. After all, he says, Antigua & Barbuda could find itself in a position where we, too, would need assistance

Once the Vincentians arrive here, Lovell says, all residents should seek to offer whatever assistance
