Melissa Seaforth bulldozes CAC to earn PRO card in Santo Domingo and thrill bodybuilding association colleagues

Antigua & Barbuda captured the top spot in body-building once again at the Central American & Caribbean Championships (CAC), held in Santa Domingo this year.

Melissa Seaforth became the ninth PRO card-holder among the nation’s elite in the sport.

Competing in the Bikini Fitness category, Seaforth not only captured first place in her class, but swept that category and lifted the trophy as overall winner, as well.

Thrown immediately into her first competition as a PRO, Seaforth is reported to have won that, hands down, from a field of four, throwing the celebrations here at home into overdrive.

Last night, congratulations poured in from family, friends, supporters and, especially, from the President of the national Bodybuilding & Weight Lifting Federation, Dave George.

“Thank you! I am really lost for words.  I am definitely overwhelmed. Thanks to my teammates who stayed with me and supported,” Seaforth posted in appreciation after her wins.

The teammates to which she refers are Brad Benjamin and Randy Christopher, who also represented the country at this year’s CAC.

While Benjamin did not make the finals, George says he is extremely proud of the way in which the newcomer represented himself, and PRO Kimberly Percival congratulates him for going above and beyond expectations in his first CAC outing.

Christopher, meanwhile, placed 6th in his height category in the  Classic Physique.

Seaforth’s sister, Michelle, competing in the same category, also earned a PRO designation at last year’s CAC event.
