Conditions in Rural South constituency force UPP Candidate Potter to call out sitting representative

Gladys Potter, the United Progressive Party candidate for St. John’s Rural South, is calling on the current representative, Daryl Matthew, to address a litany of concerns in the constituency.

Potter says there are some areas in the community where the bush has grown so high that persons are unable to see the roads.

She says this situation also poses a danger for residents, as it creates hiding places for criminals.

According to Potter, several homes in the Radio Range neighbourhood have either been broken into or attempts have been made to burglarize them.

As a consequence, the UPP candidate says residents are concerned and are calling on Matthew to do the job for which he was elected.

Potter says there have been instances when cleared areas were allowed to become overgrown again since there was no maintenance for months at a time.

She also speaks about the lack of proper lighting in some communities.

The Rural South candidate has long been advocating for better conditions in the constituency.  She complains that the time it takes for the authorities to address issues, including the simple task of fixing a pothole, is unacceptable.
