CID Building Caught on Fire

The building housing the Criminal Investigations Department of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda caught fire early this morning. 

Fire officers from the St. John’s Fire Station, rushed to the scene this morning after receiving a reports of a fire in the building housing the Criminal Investigations Department on Newgate Street just after 5am. 

Trumpet News understands that the Criminal Investigation Department which occupies the building’s first floor is relatively unscathed while minimal damage was sustained in the western section of the building’s unoccupied ground floor. 

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. We will continue to follow this story and await an official statement from the Public Relations Department of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.
