Difficulties with printer blamed for September distribution of August pensions to walk-in beneficiaries. Social Security pensioners who are accustomed to collecting their cheques in person will not be paid in this month. In a notice issued  yesterday, the Social Security Board says  it “regrets to advise that pension payments for August 2020 will not commence on August 31, 2020 for our walk-ins. ”

Instead, it says, distribution of those August pensions will commence on Wednesday, September 2.   The reason for this, according to Social Security, is that it is experiencing “technical difficulties” with its cheque printer, which has “unfortunately impacted the printing of cheques.” The Scheme says the problem has been identified and that steps are being taken to address the issue.
