The nation is mourning the loss of pioneer educator and former Resident Tutor of the University of the West Indies Dame Edris Bird.Dame Edris was honoured by the nation last year for her outstanding contribution to the field of education and community service.She received one of the nation’s highest honours in being named Dame Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of the Nation. Dame Edris Bird was 91.
